He is currently a member of the Engineers Australia Gold Coast Regional Committee, and an executive committee member of SBAA. Prior to owning Master Steel, Gabe worked for a chemical / mining company that saw him travel to NSW, VIC, Central Queensland, the UAE and the Philippines where he managed the manufacture of explosives and assorted chemicals.
Gabriel is now based in the Gold Coast with his wife. He runs his business full time and is an avid fan of Melbourne Storm and the Queensland Maroons. On Sundays he can be seen in the local Guardian Angel church practising his faith.
I am fully supportive of the SBAA and being on the Executive Committee because it puts a voice to all small business owners who, collectively, is the largest employer in Australia. The SBAA brings small business agenda to the forefront of Canberra and local policy makers to raise awareness and enact legislation that not only benefit larger corporations but also smaller companies.
The Think Tank brings together business owners from different backgrounds and industries to formulate a foundationary framework with which to accommodate small business when legislators draft governing law. This is crucial because (1) to date, this is the largest representation of small business to policy makers (2) it sets a precedent stating that, for the first time in Australia, small business does matter and should be taken seriously.
