Insight Exchange is a not-for-profit initiative that centers on the expertise of people with lived experience of domestic, family and sexualised violence and gives voice to these experiences. It is designed to inform and strengthen social, service and systemic responses across the ecosystem.
From 1 February 2023, full-time, part-time and casual employees (excluding those employed by small business employers with less than 15 employees) or 1 August 2023, for employees of small business employers (employers with less than 15 employees) will be entitled to access 10 days of paid FDV leave per year.
These changes bring domestic family and sexualised violence to the forefront in the workplace and bring the onus on all of us to play a part in building our understanding and our responses.
Insight Exchange can support small businesses as responders (without cost barriers or delay) through resources accessible on their website.
As a starting place here are two examples:
- Small business kit – Free (donated)
This free (donated) Small Business Starter Kit is designed to support your foundational understanding about domestic, family and sexualised violence and the meaningful difference you can make as a small business to your employees and customers. Small Business Starter Kit – Insight Exchange
- Introductory module – Free (donated)
The introductory module for any responder (see below) and we have a small number of modules that are industry specific – Introductory Modules – Insight Exchange. Each module is 50 minutes and contains lived experience insights, data, concepts, animations and introduction to resources you can take forward (at no cost). Employers or trainers should choose which is best for them to view individually and/or as a team. All modules use the same content with the difference being nuanced industry data and examples of lived-experience insights.
Build your understanding and respond to domestic family sexualised violence by viewing the online introductory module, and share the module broadly with your employees & contacts.
Please reach out and contact Insight Exchange, if you have any questions.
